YOUR ARTIST IN THE RAW:

She started drawing with her father as soon as she was old enough to hold a pencil. In preschool, she felt a little awkward and embarassed because she was already sketching things in 3D, while her classmates were struggling to draw stick people. She can still vividly remember her rendition of the flame and the partially melted ice cube with a wet pool around it, “thanks to Daddy — whose idea of playtime and bonding time was the Drawing Guessing Game, way before Pictionary came out“. She still does the drawing guessing game with little kids and strongly believes that “we need to tap into their creative, inferential and expressive skills early on. It matters a lot to shaping one’s character for later in life”.
That said, between corporate jobs that helped fund her hobbies and interests, she had been a preschool teacher, a freehand glitter-tattoo artist for parties, a face painter for theater productions, an illustrator for abstract reasoning/visual requirements for IQ tests (which she found a little restricted and boring), and she’s currently still dabbling in other careers that fall off the easel: hula dancer, blogger/writer, wifey and stepmom, plus a regular deskjob in between.
Now she’s having a blast “coloring outside the lines”, writing a children’s book on the side while giving birth to artworks done with coffee and wine on watercolor paper. She also makes wire-wrapped jewelry on crazy days and experiments with make-up on even crazier days. She is featured at Phatskills.com and also maintains a simple and casual sketch journal called “Dandelion Fields“.
“Every artist has a dream, mine is to be known as “THE ORGANIC ARTIST” especially in the Bay Area (CA). I am looking forward to do interesting projects or simply exhibit my works for those who will be interested” ~Clarisse
